Hello,

I'm system administrator and I'm new on kde environment.

I deploy some computers with ansible and I want to change the default behavior of KDE for all my users. Their home repository are created on the fly, so I don't want any solutions below the /home directory.
In general, I can change the behavior of an application by modifying configuration files in /etc or /usr/share (e.g. /usr/share/sddm/themes/debian-breeze/Main.qml allows you to modify the behavior of sddm). I want to avoid writing a bash script in /etc/skel that would modify the files in the user's home at the creation and I prefer another solution if possible.
I can't find an equivalent of kdeglobals outside /home.
For example, how to specify :
- firefox to be the default webbrowser and not konqueror
- that kate application must open *.c files (not seen file default.list in /usr/share/mime or /usr/share/applications)
- to be able to open a folder with the terminal with a right-click
- that I want a double-click to open the files
- other things like this...

I've looked through this page https://userbase.kde.org/KDE_System_Administration, but didn't find my answers.
I guess I missed something. Could you give me some pointers ? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I hadn't looked carefully, I can do a lot of what I want to do using the Kiosk framework: https://develop.kde.org/deploy/kiosk/introduction/, it looks good.
If the files don't exist in the tree (/etc/xdg/kdeglobals, /etc/kde5rc, ...), just create them.
I'll make a new topic if I can't do a few things in particular.

Regards,

jmc
