Issue with freq. of hardware state checks after unsuspending

I have a laptop running Arch KDE. After boot, everything is normal. Once I close and reopen the lid, however, and the system returns from suspend, this issue comes up.

When I plug in or unplug the laptop, KDE's battery applet takes more than a minute to recognize the change in state. Additionally, the laptop takes many minutes to sleep when the lid is closed. The laptop's charging indicator updates instantly, and running
Code: Select all
cat /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state
while the lid is closed returns closed, so this is clearly not a hardware issue.

To me this seems related to how often KDE is checking hardware states. For some reason after returning from suspend hardware checks happen much less often.

I am stymied as to how to fix this. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I doubt it is a Plasma problem, more likely the underlying Linux system. You should report this to your distribution

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
