I wasn't paying attention to the old kernel files that always accumulate in /boot every time the kernel is upgraded. As a result /boot filled up. I realized this when a kernel update failed to install last month. I cleaned out /boot and tried the installation again.

This time It went OK, but since then I've been getting a popup window from Discover appearing on the bottom right corner of the screen every time I boot. The image can be seen in the link below:

If I choose the 'Open Discover' button on the popup warning, Discover opens and that's it. On the bottom left it says 'Up to date'. If I chose the 'Repair System' button, the icon simply disappears. If I check syslog, I see the following events were logged as a result of clicking on 'Repair System'.

from /var/log/syslog

Code: Select all
Oct 27 08:15:46 linux packagekitd[2009]: Starting pkgProblemResolver with broken count: 0
    Oct 27 08:15:46 linux packagekitd[2009]: Starting 2 pkgProblemResolver with broken count: 0
    Oct 27 08:15:46 linux packagekitd[2009]: Done
Oct 27 08:15:46 linux PackageKit: repair-system transaction /13712_aacaabbb from uid 1000 finished with success after 363ms

I also tied 'pkcon repair' and 'pkcon update'. Both came back with no problems. See image in link below:

I've done quite a few system updates since then and everything has installed OK with no errors. Any idea on how I can get rid of this offline updates error that pops up at every boot? Is there some file relating to Discover that I can edit or delete to stop it from showing?

My current system config is:

Neon 5.23
KDE Plasma Version 5.23.2
KDE Framworks Version 5.87.0
QT Version 5.15.3
Kernel Version 5.11.0-38 generic 64 bit.

Thanks in advance.

Try disabling offline updates (the setting is in Systems Settings :( ), and see if this error goes away after subsequent updates, and maybe a reboot.
