Hello.
When i trying to browse any smb share which has an authorization (as well as anonymous/guest access) - a file manager (dolphin or krusader) always ask me for credentials. Nor guest/anonymous account neither empty submit doesn't work - after submitting manager asks for credentials again and again, or says 'Access denied' if i click cancel. Meanwhile, in smb server logs (tested on windows 7,2008r2,10 all x64) i see a records that anonymous login was successful... Can someone give me a hint where to dig...? P.S. system - Gentoo Linux kde-plasma/plasma-desktop 5.22.5 (USE handbook kaccounts policykit semantic-desktop) kde-apps/dolphin 21.08.3 (USE handbook) kde-frameworks/kio 5.85.0-r2 (USE acl handbook kwallet) kde-apps/kio-extras 21.08.3 (USE X handbook man nfs samba sftp taglib) net-fs/samba 4.14.10-r1 (USE acl client cups pam regedit system-mitkrb5 winbind) didn't encountered any errors.. and couldn't found any related logs (on client) at all, also i couldn't find how to debug dolphin or libsmbclient. Tried to mount or browse via smbclient directly - no problems detected, even if --no-pass option is used, also, if i enter correct credentials (not guest or anonymous) or try to browse a share which auth is completely disabled - everything is ok too. |

To my own experience, smb support in dolphin is just a mess. I'm now using systemd's automount feature together with cifs-tools to mount all smb shares on the network. You can then access them in dolphin like any other folder. If you're interested, I could give you some hints for the config when sitting at my linux box again. Just let me know.
