so i changed some settings in firefox to enable the kde file picker for it. it mostly works fine if you ignore the much worse performance because unlike the gtk picker it does not seem to cache file lists so they get slowly queried every time the window appears...

but the problem i was having is some popup that i now get every time i download something with firefox. i have no idea what it is or where it comes from or where its settings are but it says kde portal on it and it complains about some processing failing and whatever is happening there is freezing the whole browser for a while. is there any way to keep just the file picker but get rid of the portal processing?
