I am running Kubuntu 20.0.4. When I plug in my Garmin GPS device, the only way to get it to mount seems to be to wait for the notification to pop up saying

Next, I pick the option

Open with File Manager

The problem is that the Notification menu immediately disappears if I type something in a window (command window or browser tab). The device does not show up using the command df and I have not found how to mount it other than through the Notification message. So, after plugging in the device, I must wait for the Notification and cannot do anything else or I risk losing the mounting prompt.

Is there an easy way to prevent this?
