Dear montfras,
thank you very much for your answer... I 'd like to articulate why I developed this application with so many effects. The main reason is that by creating a playful and easy to use UI, you help the users to experiment, especially with new concepts. Of course you are right when you have learned the application you usually dont need any more all these effects, you just need the clean power of the functionality available fast at any time. So the main reasons are 1)playful, 2)easy learning curve. I believe that soon I will enable an on/off switch for the effects, so the user will be able to choose the level of animations at any time for example from the plasmoid's settings. Another important point is that a lot of code made me to split blood during its implementation. For example the drag n' drop functionality was not an easy task for Qt4.8 (a problem which I think is going to be improved in Qt5), I wanted to give to the community an open source reference for implementing drag n' drop in QML even though is not a generic implementation but rather a focused one. I 'd like to thank you a lot once more for your time. It is nice to know that people are interested around this project because it gives me strength to continue. I have a deadline in my head for the first version of the plasmoid around the end of September. An important point until then is my expectation to see in KDE 4.9 if I can access windows live thumbnails through QML plasmoids. If not, I will stay with the current implementation for the tasks. I'd like to comment also that this is not just a use of case UI example. I implemented it with ListModels that imitate the current Plasma Engines.In other words during the next phase of implementation I believe that I will not face obstacles that will block the development until the first full version... From the community I'd wish to have a mentor during the implementation of the plasmoid in order to give me some references or guidelines in order to avoid unnecessary delays. If this is not possible there is no problem I like a lot playing around and experiment with the libraries. So montreas thank you once more, sorry for my big response, Regards, Michail |

@psifidotos
Looks like activity window appeared when you pressed an icon, the one between Firefox and VLC. Would be possible to make it appear with active screen corner? |

Oh, it's not an icon, it's an active screen corner (the left one that shows the DashBoard), The only way to be enabled with an active screen corner is to add this plasmoid in the DashBoard, after that the plasmoid is in the DashBoard, showing the Dashboard with an active corner or by adding the "Show Dashboard" plasmoid in a panel is the same thing.... I hope you liked it.... |
