I am really enjoying Homerun now. It is very fast, have nice animations and is very stable.
I said it was not being made with QML. This is not true. I saw the code and almost all the interface in being made with QML.

I would contribute with this project myself, but I have no experience with C++, only with QML. (If there is anything that I can do without messing with C++ code, let me know)

There are some features I would like to see to make it perfect for me.

- Rearrange modules with columns. For example, I can have a left column with 3 modules, and a right column with 1 module that fill all the vertical space. If possible, make the size of modules configurable.
- Add a option in the all application module to show a tab bar to switch categories, instead of show all, just like takeoff launcher.
- Add a option in all modules to configure the size of icons and space between them, vertically and horizontally. Make the visibility of the icon label optional too.
- Add a option in the folders module to open with dolphin when left click in the icon. I don't like to have to right click and "Open with Dolphin" to open the directory.
- Make a option to show the tab bar in the bottom. It requires less mouse movement to change to the application tab.
- Show a little favorite icon (a star) in the corner of each application to show if that app is already favorite.

I think that is all. I dont use KRunner anymore, Homerun is much faster and easy. Thanks for this great work.

Homerun is the best launcher in kde. I would like to see the Edit applications when you right click on the icon of the launcher. Also it doesn't show an application when you first install it , at least in the version i am using 0.1.1.

really love it, I'd just love to have the option to put plasmoids in a tab (weather for example), and I need the option to resize the upper panel, if I could reorganize my fav apps I'd be totaly satisfied

The Homerun launcher is the best full screen launcher I have seen yet well done.
The ability to rearrange the favorites would be nice.
The ability to dock it like a taskbar so you can auto hide so you just slide your mouse to where it is docked to launch it.
It would be nice to have the System tray at the bottom.
With the docking ability and the system tray the only thing on the desktop would be a taskbar with a task manager then just auto hide that (Clean Desktop).

I've started using Homerun as my primary launcher. It's awesome but I've got a problem: sometimes it takes ages for it to show (upwards of a minute on certain occasions, even). It mostly happens when I'm really high on memory usage (using all 4 gigs of my RAM and significant amount of swap) and when I haven't used it to launch a program for some long time (which makes me think the problem is hiding in Homerun getting to swap and then back to ram again). That is annoying. Is there any way to ensure it always loads quick?

Oh, and there are a couple of features that I think could make it even better:
— Ability to change background to an image. I am aware that's kind of 'form over function' thingy, but the solid color background my plasma theme uses doesn't really work that well with full screen windows: http://i.imgur.com/lqP70f3.png
— Please make an option to display preview/thumbnail of a picture. If you see the above screenshot you'll notice that no previews/thumbnails are showing for jpgs/pngs. (Such setting should be independant of the settings one has in Dolphin/other file managers).
— Folders should not show under 'recent documents'
— Another neat feature — if it's even possible would be: If I search for an application (say, GIMP), search returns all recent documents associated with that application (e.g. if I search for GIMP, it displays last 10 images I edited with GIMP. If I search for LibreOffice, it displays last n documents I edited with LibreOffice, etc.)

Unfortunately user level applications such as Homerun cannot prevent themselves being swapped out. There is a mechanism known as memory locking, but user level applications are only permitted a very small amount of this per process - which wouldn't work for Homerun i'm afraid.

I have been looking for a place to report something about homerun so I thought I would try here.
I use homerun but I also use it with over 2000 .desktop files. First time it is run after boot it takes up 90 seconds from click to open, is there any way to speed this up?

sound like your use case is a bit outside the norm

I assume that it is building a cache when you start your KDE session, using the "restore previous session" option in systemsettings ->
startup & shutdown -> session management should help until you restart KDE (assuming new .desktop files are automatically added)

Search option searches only in current tab, which is not useful to me. Is it possible to set it somehow so that it can search the same way as krunner? I mean regardless of what tab I'm in it would search desired application.
