I wish to suggest a deeper Look on pcdm, since LightDM needs gobject, which cant be a really perfect solution for us and sddm seems to be not the favorite of the whole community. PCDM is, like the name suggest this, developed from PC-BSD and written with qt libraries: http://wiki.pcbsd.org/index.php/PCDM

Could you cite any sources? I didn't see anything else like this yet.

That really isn't a problem. So much of KDE stuff relies on stuff which uses gobject. LightDM has Qt bindings, I wrote them Anyway, we'll probably be encouraging SDDM. We have a Plasma based theme for it. |

No. Better port KDM to 5-th platform. It was working more then ten years, and it was allways strong and flexible. No one DM comepairs to KDM. Especially on multiseat stations. I use it even on computers without KDE.

KDM's a lost cause with 5, they deleted the source from their git so there is no chance of it continuing. It'll be either SDDM or LightDM as the successor, as GDM doesn't play nicely with 5.
