Hi guys.

I changed to KDE recently with Kubuntu ( I'd rather prefer Gnome as I'm better used to it) and a rather annoying thing happens:
I open Konsole , work a little time with it and it crashes with a notification "Bell in Session Shell".

Currently I am running 3.2.0-31-generic kernel, but same thing occured on 3.2.0.29-generic.
Any help would be appreciated. I didn't find such topic so please excuse me if it's a duplicate.

Interesting. If you select "Developer Information" does it give you a useful backtrace? (You may need to install debugging packages).

Ideally this should not occur at all - and doesn't here (the Bell in Non-Visible Session notification is very useful when waiting for tasks to complete).

If you do not use this notification at all, you can try disabling it to mitigate the bug by reconfiguring the Konsole notifications at Konsole > Settings > Configure Notifications. Simply select the appropriate notification and change the preferences as needed.

Are you able to reproduce this crash? If so can you file a bug report please? bugs.kde.org.

Is it possible to disable the 'Bell in Session' message? I'm not talking about crashing as the OP is. Over 99% of my work in Konsole is running R, and I frequently call a graphics device, which opens a new window and pushes Konsole into the background and triggers the Bell message. It gets a bit annoying after a while.

Of course you can. Go to "Settings -> Configure Notifications"
