Hi. I just moved from gnome to kde in arch linux and I have a few questions about the font setting in konsole, as the followings:
1. Does konsole honor fontconfig setting completely? I have this question simply because I noticed when I change the rendering style for some fonts in fontconfig, the effect is immediate in gnome-terminal, but I didn't see any effect in konsole. However konsole does honor the preferred order of Chinese font through fontconfig, so this is the reason why I asked this question. 2. Horizontal alignment issue between English and Chinese fonts in konsole I noticed that the Chinese font and English font are not aligned perfectly in a line. Choosing certain English monospace font, like inconsolata can even make konsole display only the upper half of the Chinese fonts. While in gnome-terminal, it seems everything is okay and all fonts are aligned perfefctly in a line. Thank you |

For #1, the best thing I can suggest here is to observe it's behaviour. If a restart of Konsole fixes things, then it is likely that Konsole is applying and respecting Fontconfig settings, it is just not monitoring them for changes. If it respects only some Fontconfig settings, then it is likely overriding them or lacking implementation (in which case you may want to file a bug report).
For #2, this certainly sounds like a bug in Konsole, which should be reported at bugs.kde.org.
