Hi there,
I recently upgraded to KDE 4.10 and then 4.10.1. Since 4.10 I have a little strange effect: When I start Konsole the first time after logging in to KDE, the title is: "<user name> : bash - Konsole <3>" Why <3>? In earlier versions, there was either no counter or the value was set to 1. Can anyone tell me, how to reset the counter? Thanks in advance! gargamel |

for some reason KDE sees that there are 3 different Konsole windows open and the one you're looking at is the 3rd, hence the <3>
open ksysguard and search for konsole, how many occurances? if multiple forcibly kill them all and restart konsole, did that fix it? |

Yes, that solved it, thanks a lot!
I just wonder now: In what way is killing a process with Ksysguard different than with ps command? Because I had killed all Konsole processes once, already, using the ps command, but after logging out and relogging in, I got again a title bar count of <3> for the first Konsole window. So for some reason, two Konsole processes seem to have been started in the background... Anyhow, it's all good now, thanks again! gargamel |

there's a lot of ways to kill apps using either cmd and gui but a lot of people prefer gui so ..............
please mark as solved |

If you have just logged in then the processes may have been started by session management, attempting to restore a previous session. Making sure that no instance of Konsole is running before you logout should correct this issue.
