Full-screen mode question.

Thu Apr 04, 2013 3:19 am
Hi! :)
Is it possible to put Konsole in full-screen, from command prompt, or pressing a keyboard shortcut (while being in windowed mode)?

I can see that there are the "--hide-menubar" and "--hide-tabbar" options and also the "--profile file" for changing various other things, but I couldn't found an option for going full-screen and also I couldn't found a keyboard shortcut.

I think, going full-screen is useful for displaying ncurses semigraphics.
What I'm doing now is, a) launching konsole with "--hide-tabbar", b) Settings -> full-screen and c) Right-clicking -> hide menu bar.

I'm wondering though, if there's a more straightforward way to do it.
TIA! :)

Does checking the "Fullscreen" option available from the window decoration right click menu meet your needs?

If it does, you may find it helpful to setup a shortcut: Open System Settings > Shortcuts and Gestures > Global Keyboard Shortcuts. Select the KDE Component "KWin" and assign a shortcut combination to "Make Window Fullscreen".

I'll note that this shortcut can be applied to all applications, not just Konsole.

THANKS!!!
That will do. ;D

I was searching for a Konsole shortcut and I didn't noticed that I had to actually assign a Kwin one.
THANKS AGAIN!!! ;D

for the record, since konsole 2.14 F11 can be used to toggle fullscreen mode.

implemented in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=303424
