I've understood there are currently two type of schemes: .colorscheme and old deprecated .schmema

with .schema you could specify wether the background wallpaper should be stretched, tiled or centered.

I dont see any options for that in the GUI and cant seem to find how to do in the file.

Hello, actually it looks like that was a KDE3 only option. When the new wallpaper option was added recently for KDE4, these options weren't added.
