Hello KDE Community.
I use a program called superputty for connecting to cisco equipment and other command line based devices. Superputty has a "sessions" sidebar that can be hidden and shown within the terminal window. A google search for superputty will show what I am talking about. I use superputty to connect to buildings and devices nested in folders and it makes it very easy to manage. I have been looking for a good alternative for this and so far konsole seems like it is the best. I know Konsole has tabs and bookmarks, but is there any way to enable or build a bookmarks sidebar for konsole. For me having the bookmarks built into the terminal makes it easier to manage devices. If there is anyone out there who can point me in the right direction I would be forever grateful. |

From what I can tell, Konsole has no support at the moment for sidebars - so can't display it's bookmarks there i'm afraid.
If you're interested, you could probably customise the Konsole code to achieve what you want however.

Thanks to bcooksley for answering this,
I am not a developer, but I would be up to trying to build it. Are there any resources I could use to get introduced to customizing the konsole code? |

You'll need a copy of the Konsole source code which is located at git://anongit.kde.org/konsole. I'd also suggest taking a look at some Qt development materials - there are some Qt 4 books around I believe which you might find helpful (some online, others in hardcopy only). Knowledge of C++ is a requirement though.
