Hi All,
I keep installing kde4 every now and then to see if I can set up my environment to how I have it in kde3. Well, Kubuntu 8.10 hit the sweet spot, and I am going to stick to kde4. One quick question, I like to setup my konsole window so that it always opens at 80x24. I remember konsole used to have option for size, which I can't find. Any ideas? Also, I can't seem to change the color of the panel from black. I used to set it to transparent in kde3. tia, rouble

Here (using trunk) Konsole remembers the size of the window when you close it.
As for the panel, I only know two ways: either use another theme, or manually edit the current theme. In 4.2, I think, you'll be able to change the theme for individual widgets (including the panel).

In KDE 4, you have to uncheck the "use current window size on next startup" box and specify the desired size in a profile, then launch konsole with the --profile switch. More explanations with screenshots here : http://ychaouche.informatick.net/kde
