Need help installing Realtek driver

Fri Feb 03, 2017 9:27 am
So, I've been trying this for the past several hours today, and a couple hours yesterday, still no luck.
My sdcard "shows up" when I insert it, gives me the option to mount, but cannot mount. So I decided to update/install the sdcard reader driver (lsusb shows the card reader, but not the sd card inside it, so I figure it's a driver issue)

Downloaded the driver from the Realtek website into my Downloads folder. Here's my terminal output, for some reason I can't get it to configure, make, or make install at all. NO idea what I'm doing wrong.

root@HotBox:/home/blake# tar -xzf 0001-Realtek_RTS5229_Linux_Driver_v1.07.zip

*I've also tried this ,with the exact same result, with a tar.bz2 file (downloaded two different drivers just in case... one was .zip, the other .bz2)
