Hi there,
I was wondering if there was a way in Konsole to open my text editor in the same window that the terminal. Right now whenever I try to open Kate or emacs, a new window opens for the text editor. Is there any way to change this? Thanks |

That's just the way that GUI text editors work. There are also myriad options for in-terminal editors including vim, nano and emacs (check the options, there should be a way to launch it without it opening a separate gui window).
Now, KDE apps also have a --geometry parameter that you can use to specify the geometry of the app window when launched. There should be a way to use that to launch the app to exactly overlay the konsole window if that is your preference.
