Inline images and inline links?

Sun Jan 28, 2018 11:24 am
Hello,

does Konsole provide escape sequences to show inline images and inline links, like iTerm2 does?

I do use neither KDE nor Konsole, but with Konsole being a notable terminal emulator on Linux I'd like to add support to it to my mdcat tool.

Kind regards

I don't think Konsole supports inline images or links (feature request? probably not going to happen any time soon). Most linux terminals only support character-based IO. However I know of a couple of terminals which do support rich text and/or inline images and links and such:
Terminology, the terminal for the Enlightenment desktop (built on Enlightenment's gui framework "EFL", has its own set of display commands and such).
Extraterm is a cross-desktop terminal (written in typescript (nodejs?). I'm not as familiar with this)
