Hi all,

I just updated to KDE 19.08 (Debian Sid) and I have a big problem with the new way views and tabs are handled now. So I’d be very grateful if someone could help me go back or find an acceptable alternative to how I used them before.

So, in 18.04, I had a fullscreen konsole, vertically split in two. I had multiple tabs, each with one shell, and both views (left and right) could pass every tab/shell. IOW, exactly like Emacs can go through buffers in its windows.

Now, on 19.08, if I create a new tab, it takes all the screen, and if I split it vertically, I now have two new shells. Each tab is independant. I can’t find a way to access an already opened shell in a view.

Is there a way to go back to how it was or have the same kind of “user experience” or should I drop Konsole and use Emacs?

100% agree. Please put back the old behaviour.

Also, since 19.08

1. shifting tabs within one Konsole with shift+ctrl+arrow
2. confirming alt+F4 with "close current tab" I dont know why, it works again with konsole version 19.08.1; maybe related to GDM?
3. change of color of tab title (e.g. from black to blue) if something in another than the current tab happens

does not work anymore.

Is there a bug or a wishlist where one can look if something happened regarding this?
