Is there a compelling reason for you to use CentOS, especially in version 7? You need at least version 7.7 to get some support on their side.
CentOS is currently the only distribution still shipping KDE 4 I fear. We currently do not support KDE4 anymore as our current release is Plasma 5.16.x. The last stable KDE4 release we did was 4 years ago.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Does it still crash reproducibly? Then you need to report it to CentOS directly, as they maintain it
