Changed tab/split behaviour between 18.04 and 20.12

Hello,

I've just updated from konsole 18.04 to 20.12 (Debian stable to testing).

The default tab/split behaviour seems to have changed. Instead of all tabs being available in all splits, each split seems to now have its own set of tabs, and I can't work out how to move tabs between splits.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it's an intentional change in behaviour.

How do I restore the old behaviour?

Thanks!

Tim.

Hey @TimSmall
Did you find how to fix this?

I'm bumping this - I just upgraded from Konsole 17.12.3 to 19.12.3 and that new behaviour has horrible producitivity for me.
Is there anyway to bring back the old behaviour?

Update 1 (2021-10-05):
The 20.12.03 still has this behaviour.
Also explained here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9Y1pul8smQ) by Thomas Canabrava, that this was intended...

Hello,
My konsole version is 21.08.1

And I also would love to split tabs into views functionality.
However I clicked all of my konsole and didn't find this options :(

Also guys maybe you know how to start 3 widgets in one konsole window in split view with running processes each with single bash command / function?

That woulld be tremendous productivity boost o.O

-----
little unrelated below but it would be nice to have this feature:

I m trying to achieve that but with no luck:
The further I went is:

Code: Select all
konsole -e $SHELL -c "htop" &>/dev/null &

but it opens new konsole window instaed of new tab in split view with "htop" in this new window.
Also the new konsole window is related on the first one.

Also I can force to open as many tabs I want with commands uising external file like this:

'tabs' file content:
Code: Select all
title %n;; command: /usr/bin/htop
title %n;; command: /usr/bin/htop

than in konsole simple use command:
Code: Select all
konsole --tabs-from-file ~/path/to/tabs

But thats not spliting tabs into "Split widgets" which is no good :(
