I posted this to the general forum and not this subforum, so I'm reposting here:

Fedora 34, updated KDE Plasma running Breeze Dark, NVIDIA Quadro graphics:

When I launch Konsole, the input field is a single line, the cursor is centered, and all typing is hidden, i.e., invisible. I cannot find any setting that will change that so I can read the input--and, perhaps more importantly, the output.

What am I missing? How can I render this usable?

What color combination do you use with the Breeze Dark theme? I can't reproduce this here with the default color on Breeze Dark, nor the Breeze or Breeze Light color. Somewhere between the Global Theme, Plasma Theme and Color Theme something is conflicting I presume...

Please also check the color settings in your Konsole Profile

KDE:
Global theme: Breeze Dark
Application style: Breeze
Plasma Style: Breeze Dark
Colors: Breeze Dark
Fonts: Noto

Konsole:
Default profile: characters appear to be black on black, i.e., cursor advances, but no characters visible.
New profile: Any new combination remains invisible, e.g., black on light yellow or red on black => no visible characters, just advancing cursor and appropriate background.
Changing font or removing font smoothing has no effect.

Try a new user, please.

Did you report this to your distribution? I can't reproduce this here at all, might be a distribution problem.

More information on this issue, fwiw: Characters are visible when Konsole is running full screen. Invisible when not full screen.
