nvidia-smi shows driver not installed

Sat Feb 04, 2023 10:32 am
i have been trying to run tensorflow on my system but the library did not recognize my GPU (GT 820M). I ran the nvidia-smi to check the issue and it shows the same error output every time "NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIAdriver is installed and running."
'dkms status' was showing <driver> "added" so i removed dkms and installed it again using "dkms autoinstall", this time dkms status was <driver> "installed", but nvidia-smi still gave the same output. I have tried installing the "cuda", "cudnn" packages still doesnt work
