Searching Google tells me that a lot of people don't like the shell beeps in Konsole and other terminal emulators and seek to disable them. I am the exact opposite having used Bash for so long that the beeps are necessary feedback for me when doing tab completion or searching in Aptitude and such. A completely mute Konsole is not pleasant for me right now and I'm not finding the magic setting to enable the beeps.
I am getting the same behavior in both Kubuntu and Debian. I hope this isn't something that was dropped rather than made configurable. Konsole is the best terminal emulator I've used and one of the primary reasons I use KDE, odd as it may sound.

If you have a Konsole where notifications work ( it has been broken before ) then you can enable it through Konsole > Settings > Configure Notifications > Bell In Visible Session.
There you can configure a sound file to play of your choice.
