konsole 2.2.3 :: annoying behaviour

Sat Jun 20, 2009 10:12 am
Hi,

I've upgraded from KDE 3.5.10 to 4.2.4. I found two things annoying in new version:
- mouse scrolling - before it was just scrolling fine, but now it is sending some input to application. For example when I run vim, scroll button changes cursor position.

- colours in mc. I have two types of shell - green on black for normal and black on light yellow for root. In root shell I get colours in mc as expected, but in root shell I started to get them wrongly.

Did anyone notice similar issues? Are there any ways to void both?

Try changing the key bindings scheme you are using. Konsole > Settings > Edit Current Profile > Input.

Since mouse scrolling is simply an "Input" to X, it is possible that the redirection was removed from Konsole in KDE 4. Please file a feature request if one does not already exist at bugs.kde.org.

You could try using Konsole's DBus interface, and a bit of scripting to redirect the input though if you wished. It would be complicated and prone to failure though ( don't even know if it is possible... ) and I wouldn't try it...
