Hi *,

I've a problem with the naming of the tabs of Konsole V2.1. I'm used to have a lot of sessions open with a lot of tabs and have all manually named with a certain name. But Konsole didn't stop bugging me with self renaming the tabs. Is there any method to stop this behaviour? I was used to it with KDE 3.5, where such problems not appears.

This is very annoying with me and I would appreciate if someone could help me out of this.

Sorry, but I could not reproduce under KDE Trunk, which means the issue has been fixed, or is somehow related to something else.

I tested by right clicking on the tab and selecting "Rename" then changing between directories and running applications.

Hello,

yes it is a bit tricky. The error can be reproduced here in two ways (It is the current openSuSE11.1 release 4.1.3-3.8.9):

  • When Name of the tab is already set manually and changing anything in the current profile. Afterwards it cames along with e.g. the next connection to a remote machine. Then I have to set the name again manually.
  • All tabs are set manually, then rebooting the machine. After login and restoring the previous open programms, the names are okay, but then when connecting to a remote machine or change directory the name will be set automatically. After setting it then manually it will keep it.

I found no way to disable the automatic settings. I've tried to empty the fields, but then the name will be erased an the tab has no name at all :-(

Hm, I've tried to "provoke" konsole into the bug by following your two ways but have failed to do so. Is 4.1.3 correct or did you type the numbers in the wrong order? If it really is 4.1.3 then I suspect it's a bug that has since then been fixed - I've certainly not been able to reproduce it in 4.3.1.
