Let, as an example, link=http://chuangtzu.acc.umu.se/debian-cd/5.0.3/i386/iso-cd/debian-503-i386-businesscard.iso (~45 MB)
Then,
spits out like this: whereas,
works as expected: Interestingly, this happens only in konsole. Other terms, such as xterm or virtual terminal are not affected: Any idea why curl is bailing out in konsole? Thanks. (KDE 4.3.1)

Does the same issue occur with wget?

Thanks for the reply. Thankfully, wget behaves as expected: with --progress=bar (the default) it shows a "thermometer" style progress on one line, and --progoress=dot shows the usual 1K dots, with 10 dots/cluster and 50 dots/line.

I wasn't able to reproduce the curl issue locally either. Try updating your version of Konsole, or enlarging the window size ( I recall encountering this with a different program once, this fixed it )

Wow That fixed it! Thanks man... Sometimes the solutions are so trivial that they shock you to the core
