hi,
i just recently upgraded from kde 3.5.10 to 4.3.2 and i am missing some konsole features, which are quite important for me. in the old release it was possible to set the geometry and the title of a newly created konsole (--geometry and --title), but i can't find this anymore. another great feature "set selection end" is also gone? with this feature i was able to easily copy several pages of text out of a even longer log. Are theses features really gone, or could i just not find them? thx in advance |

You can set a default place so that konsole always opens in that position and that size. This works the same way in all windows, as far as I know. You right-click on the title bar and Select Advanced. It's fairly straightforward to find the settings you need there. I don't think you can do anything about the title at the moment.
I've not met that one, so I really don't know. Perhaps someone else will know.

the problem is, that i have a small script which opens six different konsole windows with a login to different devices in our network. with konsole from kde3.5 i could place them with --geometry on the screen so that i'll have 2 rows with each 3 konsole windows. with kde4.3 the position of only one window is remembered and the other 5 will be placed somewhere around. My idea for a workaround to this issue was to have a unique title for each konsole window (thats why i asked for this ) so i could right-click the titlebar -> "advanced" -> "special window settings" and set the geometry properties there. |

As a workaround, create profiles for each one, and change the Tab title formats to have the desired window title. Then use "konsole --profile <Name of profile>" to launch it with that title.

In KDE 4, you have to uncheck the "use current window size on next startup" box and specify the desired size in a profile, then launch konsole with the --profile switch. More explanations with screenshots here : http://ychaouche.informatick.net/kde
