Konsole's Monitor Activity option is currently my favorite Konsole feature. I have a command-line script which monitors downloaded files in browser cache directory, and prints a line whenever some file is present. With Monitor Activity I can hear a bell sound whenever this happens and click some links in the browser to download another file.
However, I have to keep going to the Konsole Tab and press Ctrl-Shift-A twice to "reactivate" notification. Otherwise, further activity in monitored console will not produce more sound. How to make Konsole keep sounding bells? Thanks in advance. --- Konsole 2.6.3, KDE 4.6.3, Mageia 1. |

If you activate the tab in question, then deactivate (by moving to another tab) does it reactivate it?
I think this is to rate limit the bell sound to prevent it being irritating.

I guess so, but I wish there were an option to not rate limit it. |

I registered just to comment on this Thread.
I also noticed this feature is not working properly for long time. It actually used to work fine in KDE 3, and stopped working since I moved to KDE 4 (long time, I was just lazy to report it). I'm using it to tail critical log files. This bug exists: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=257752 for a year. Maybe someone can find the time to fix it since it's really a usable feature that is totally useless now. Thanks! |

put the fun back and switch to KDE 4.7 and add Linux kernel 3.0 to your repositories ... that should bring you back on stage

As recorded in that bug report, "Monitor for activity" will be masked for 15 seconds before being automatically "reactivated" since KDE SC 4.8
