"konsole --new-tab -e ls" problem

Mon Jul 25, 2011 8:31 pm
hi KDE gurus,

I'm a beginner in KDE, and i have a "small" problem. So i would like start TABs in an already opened konsole by command line like this:

konsole --new-tab -e <cmd>

Unfortunatelly a new TAB is opened, but it looks that ls command does not executed. Nothing happened.

Here are my steps what I did:
- open a new konsole
- type: konsole --new-tab -e ls
- new TAB is opened, but nothing else happened :-(

I spent hours in "google" for find any suggestion/info, ect. aout it, but I could not find anything. That is why I turn to this list.

Could you please tell me what I did wrong?

KDE version: 4.6.2
OS: Kubuntu

thanks for your help,
/Robi

me thinks it works, it's just that the command "ls" is executed so quickly that when finished the tab is closed

try this
konsole --new-tab -e top
