Can I disable this automatic renaming of tabs when I SSH to another machine. I want to set the title of my tab, SSH to a machine and keep the same title.

Can I just disable automatic naming completely?

Try a right click on a tab and select "Rename tab" (or similar).

With all other terminal emulators I have used there is a way to turn off the dynamically set title. Konsole wants to change the title of the tab when I connect to a remote machine. I want to stop this.

Setting the title is not the issue. Stopping the automatic setting is the issue.

Settings > Configure Profiles. Select your profile, then Edit. Change to "Tabs" tab, then alter the two formats for local and remote.

Maybe I'm not being clear here. What I want to do is:

1. create a tab
2. give it a title
3. SSH to a remote machine
4. NOT have the title change automatically after SSH

My problem is step 4.

Oh well, I'll just go back to Terminal (Xfce's). I guess this is just the way KDE works.
