Kalarm can't find any sound file.

System: Manjaro 18.0.4 Illyria
DE: Xfce 4.14
Kalarm: 2.12.4
Hello, I use this software to set the event reminder today. And I want to use some sound file, but I can't use my file in the setting interface. It seems that this setting can't recongize my sound file. I try .mp3 and then convert it to .ogg. I reinstall it but it doesn't work either. Image
I am new to use its software and its function seems powerful. But I can't set any sound file. Please help me.

I'm not sure why no files are being displayed to choose from, if there is a .ogg file in /usr/share/sounds/alsa.

If you know the name of the file, you could type it into the File name field, and click Open.

Linux Mint 20.1 Ulyssa
Xfce 4.14.2
Kalarm Version 2.13.3 (KDE Apps 19.12.3)

Hi !
I have exactly the same issue.
Despite I have .ogg files, it doesn't accept it.
If I type the name of the file as you said, the "open" button stay in grey, unavailable.
I just installed Kalarm on a brand new Linux Mint 20.1 Ulyssa (xfce) installation.
In addition can just select the standard "ping" and even with that, it doesn't play any sound if I try the alarm.

maybe a package is missing ?
Kalarm display "application/ogg" as accepted format.

This bug has now been fixed for the KDE 21.08 release. It was due to the Qt file dialog filtering working differently on different desktops! See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437217
