If you are running KDE SC 4.3, then I suggest you file a bug at bugs.kde.org if one doesn't already exist.

I happened to see this posting, so I've now logged this as a bug at bugs.kde.org.
I would encourage people to use bugs.kde.org - developers don't necessarily see comments in places such as the KDE forum, so bug reports can easily be overlooked if you don't use bugs.kde.org.

This is now fixed for transmission via KMail, for KDE 4.3.5 and KDE 4.4. I'm still looking into a fix for transmission via sendmail. See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=222222.

Sending email alarms via sendmail is also fixed now, and will be in KDE 4.3.5. It was a close shave - the fix was made just 10 minutes before KDE 4.3.5 was finalised.
