Hi all
I'm using kde-telepathy 0.3 on Kubuntu 11.10 from PPA. I use a XMPP account, but mostly chat with people using Gmail/Gtalk accounts, but often my messages are not received by my contacts I thought this would be a problem in Telepathy backend, but I've been using Empathy for some weeks now and the problem never showed - then today I removed Empathy and re-installed kde-telepathy, and the problem is here again. I tried the telepathy debug logging on Jabber (following instructions on Telepathy Wiki) but nothing ever showed there - I only tried it when using kde's frontend Is it only me? can I run any other test? should I report as a bug? |

I would recommend reporting this as a bug, KDE Telepathy appears to be mishandling the XMPP Telepathy backend, leading to messages being lost. Do make sure you are using the appropriate version(s) of Telepathy for the KDE Telepathy version you are using however.

I'll report it then.
For the version of Telepathy, I have TelepathyQt (4) 0.9 from the PPA of KDE-Telepathy, which should be right as far as I understood |

Did you receive any error from the Chat UI? Also, do you have telepathy-gabble installed? XMPP can also work with telepathy-haze, but -gabble is strongly preferred.

the Chat UI doesn't say anything, only the other people complain that I didn't answer their question, while I did I have telepathy-gabble also, I created a log and posted to bugzilla -> https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=298023 |

I can confirm this problem. In fact I was planning to write a bug report myself. Will add my data to yours.
It's time to prod some serious buttock!
