file transfers problem

Tue Jun 12, 2012 1:53 pm
Hello,
I cannot send files using telepathy, as the file transfers button is grayed out (msn network). Am I missing something?
I am using telepathy 0.4.

You need ktp-filetransfer-handler installed (you must logout and log back in after installing that) and the other contact must support file transfer as well

That package is already installed (arch distribution). This happens both with contacts using windows (live messenger) and linux (pidgin).

Can you try running
Code: Select all
/usr/lib/kde4/libexec/ktp-filetransfer-handler --persist --debug
(I'm sorry I'm not sure about the actual path where it is installed on arch linux) and see if while it is running it the button is still grayed out?

I misunderstood this...
MSN protocol in telepathy-haze does not support file transfer yet. Try using an XMPP account.
