Hi everybody,
Is there other styles available for the text UI ? The current 2 styles are not very suitable with my KDE color scheme (Obsidian Coast). Renkoo is readable and functional but is not very explicit on who sent which message as most of my contact don't have an avatar set. SimKete seams to be better for that but is unreadable with the Obsidian Coast color scheme as text is black on a strong dark gray. Is there a way to make style aware of system colors ? Thanks. |

Hi, have a look at this: http://community.kde.org/Real-Time_Communication_and_Collaboration/Components/Chat_Window/Themes#Supported_and_Unsupported_themes
It is a bit outdated, feel free to update it You can find even more themes here: http://www.adiumxtras.com/index.php?a=search&cat_id=5 (you can add tho one you try to the wiki page if you want ) As a bonus if you open those page using rekonq (or i think also konqueror) you can install the themes just by clicking on the adiumxtra:// link |

I get something strange : if I set a new theme, it applies well to one-to-one conversation (I need to close and re-open the conversation to apply) but it seams that no theme is applied to group conversation (XMPP).
Only the two default themes (Renkoo&SimKete) appears to work with group conversation. Is this a known bug ? |

Yes. Deliberate known bug.
Some themes were completely unusable in a group chat (like the default one, Renkoo) so we hardcoded it to always be something else. The intention was to be able to configure both normal and group modes, but it's not happened yet. |

Ok, thank you for the information.
I hope it will be fixed in the next release since my main usage of XMPP is group conversation so I would like to be able to configure the theme used for those conversations. KUGW |

Short answer: Yes, just copy your theme into ~/.kde/share/apps/ktelepathy/styles. You may have to tweak some parts. Longer (boring) answer: Kopete used AdiumThemes but because of some differences between Webkit and KHTML many themes had to be edited, themes ended up being cloned downstream on kde-look, from AdiumThemes then 'fixed'. This allowed the Kopete developers to add in some of their own custom features and quirks. With KTp, we use webkit for the rendering, to this end we redid the theme rendering code from scratch, allowing us to _try_ and keep better compatibility with Adium themes directly. In turn this breaks loading Kopete styles. Pro tip: add [Appearance] debug=true to your ~/.kde/share/config/ktelepathyrc file and you will get a hidden context menu in the main view, which opens webkits HTML debugger. Useful for fixing styles. |
