login/password problem with gtalk and yahoo accounts

on Kubuntu 12.04, KDE 4.9 and KDE Telepathy 0.5 but had the same problem on 11.10, KDE 4.7.4 and KDE Telepathy 0.4.1

I create a Gtalk account and a Yahoo account and the first login works fine, all expected functionality is there.

However, once I disconnect (logout, reboot whatever) on the next login both accounts complain of authentication failure endlessly. Retyping the password does not help, only removing and readding the accounts.

An ICQ, a Live/MSN and Facebook account I have do not behave like this.

Tried looking in KWallet but for all I can see it looks right there.

Is this a known bug or something wacko with my config? ???

Have you installed all updates on your system?

If you open the Kopete settings, and re-enter your username and password (opting to not save your password), does this have any impact upon the ability to authenticate successfully?

Kopete? OK I use that too but this is Telepathy?? And in Telepathy reentering has no effect, I have to recreate the accounts

Sorry, got them mixed up...
Only thing I can guess is that the configuration is somehow not reloaded properly...

Just to make sure, at least for GTalk/Jabber - you aren't trying to use the same account simultaneously with multiple clients correct?

Okay, the Telepathy developers will probably have to investigate this unfortunately.
Although it is difficult to test the Yahoo accounts against another system, you could try testing the Jabber support with another provider that supports Jabber - such as Facebook, or KDE's own KDETalk.net.

well Facebook works just fine, as stated in original posting ;-) so I know it is not the protocol in that case

Okay. This will probably need developer help at this stage i'm afraid.

This problem disappeared when creating a new wallet and importing all data from old wallet, so obvious not a Telepathy but a Kwallet bug.

:)

yeah I had a thread as well about being unable to connect a bit below this one. Almost anything related to connecting/password issues is going to be about kwallet
