Hello all,
At work, we use Lync2012 for intra-office communication. We mainly use it for text messaging, and if I could get KDE Telepathy to work with that I would be satisfied, I am running Kubuntu 12.10 with KDE 4.10 with Telepathy version 0.5.2. I am able to use Pidgin as a Lync client using pidgin-sipe. When I try to get Telepathy to work, not only does the client state that there is a network error, but when ever I try to edit the SIPE configuration the interface changes focus arbitrarily, or they fields disappear, or information is entered in a field which does not have focus; and doesn't seem to be too stable. It is my understanding that currently Telepathy uses the libpurple library, so if it works in Pidgin but not Telepathy I would assume the issue is with something in Telepathy. Is there any special trick I can use to get this working? Alternatively, is there a native SIPE plugin for Telepathy in the works?

3rd party purple plugins turned out to be not really reliable when used with Telepathy, so we generally discourage using those, sorry.
It's something that needs to be fixed at upstream Telepathy project, afaik there are no secret magic tricks that would make those work at the moment...
