Hey guys,
I am using ktp 0.6.2 KDE 4.10.4 Fedora 18 (64 bit) It connects fine with my gtalk account. My only problem is that I can't find the place where I can set it to remember the password and connect automatically. Every time I open the computer I have to ask it to connect and enter the password for my gtalk account. I refuse to use kwallet. Is there another option? Or if there is no such setting yet, will it be implemented? I used to use kopete which has all this functionality but it no longer works in Fedora 18 with gtalk accounts. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance, Corneliu |

Stop refusing to use kwallet. We put our passwords there, if you don't use it we can't keep our passwords. You can set kwallet to not have a password, at which point you won't even notice it's there. |

Thank you David,
In general I refuse to use stuff that is forced upon me. It doesn't make sense to have an external application to handle passwords used in other applications. Each application should be perfectly capable of handling its own passwords, like kopete, for example. There could be an option to let kwallet manage passwords, but in no way should kwallet become mandatory. Your suggestion is a good workaround, I guess, but it's not ideal. I guess we can consider this topic "resolved". |
