Hi,
I'm running Telepathy 0.6.1, and I'm trying to get facebook chat to work. I'm running Mint 15, pretty much all stock as it came in the KDE version. I've tried two accounts, each time I get the same problem: "Network Error". I know the username and password are correct, and Telepathy connects to googletalk just fine. I also know that the passwords are correct, and Pidgin can connect to the two facebook accounts just fine. I've had a quick google but that hasn't turned up anything. Can anyone help? |

Facebook are transitioning to a new server.
They are doing a gradual roll out, so some people are affected some not. I can reproduce this on the Facebook beta server, so I imagine it's the same problem, though I can't be 100% certain unless someone here verifies. We're hopefully going to work round it in Telepathy, I've sent a patch upstream. (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68829) If you want the gory details. Facebook have somehow managed to interpret
to mean "you don't need to put a from attribute in your server messages", which you could well argue is a deviation from the specification. Our backend just chucks the reply - then disconnects because the server is failing to reply to a fairly vital request. (server capability discovery disco#info) |

I'm being effected by this error. If you need anything from me to verify the issue just tell me what to run. I'm on Kubuntu 13.04
