How to start KDE telepathy?

Wed Nov 26, 2014 12:21 pm
Hi , I am using opensuse 13.2 KDE, 32 bit, with KDE and fluxbox

Understand that kopete is sort of not updated and kde-telepathy is the replacement app.

Installed kde-telepathy in root using
zypper install telepathy-kde ( the Telepathy KDE meta package )

Added a google talk account in
systemsettings -> Instant Messaging and VOIP

However, unlike kopete where I start using Alt-F2 -> kopete, I cannot locate kde-telepathy or similar.

Appreciate if someone can advise how to get kde-telepathy running during startup.

There is "IM Contacts" entry. Or "ktp-contactlist" should also work.

Additionally, it's meant to be used together with Plasma session, so you should also add the Presence applet to systray. To do that, right click on the system tray -> System tray settings -> Under Extra Items select Instant Messaging.

KDE Telepathy | Plasma | Plasma Mobile
