the Places panel has the word "places" twice on top of panel

"recently accessed" and "search for" sections are displayed in Places panel even if Nepomuk not running - why
this will be fixed in 4.9, only displayed if indexing enabled https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=301340

Timeline only works if file indexing enable, not if Nepomik Desktop enabled, why

In Information panel:
- for non-indexed files all dates fields are the same, seems to be date & time folder/file viewed
- what is the difference in "modified" and "modified at", both have date and time
- what is difference in "modified" and "resource modified", is "resource modified" related to tags?

Added information -> audio, why no bit rate (but there is sample rate)

Prefer that image size be "size: nnn x nnn" rather than "height: nnn" \n "width: nnnn" as that format not registering (yet)

I also miss the feature that dynamically resized the icons in the places panel upon resize... Not critical, but just liked it. Any way to get it back ?

never paid attention but I'm guessing the resizing disappeared with 2.0 (KDE 4.8.x), if so you should post on the regular Dolphin forum

Nope, it was still there in KDE 4.8.3. It's now gone with 4.8.80.
But to be honest: I'm glad, it is. I never liked it. :-)

The Places panel has been rewritten from scratch for Dolphin 2.1. That's why some features are currently missing.

After seeing it for a while, what disturbs me more is that it is not consistent anymore with the "file > open" or "file > save" places panel. I guess it's probably a matter of time until they are using the same component, but meanwhile it gives the impression that we lost on the polishing side of things...

Also, is there a way (or will there be a way) to configure what appears in the new places panel ? I'm not really interested in the "recently accessed" or "search for"...

Anyway, I know this a work in progress, so keep it up :)

gdebure re: the "recently accessed" or "search for" seems they will not appear if indexing is disabled https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=301340 but it also seems this is the only way to see "recently accessed" and "search for" as the search panel is gone (at least in beta1)

This has been changed intentionally because there was quite a bit of negative user feedback about dynamic resizing. There is a wish at bugs.kde.org to restore the feature: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=301959
