Feature request: Max upload ratio

Thu Sep 22, 2005 12:56 am
Hi. A "max upload ratio" option would be nice. So that torrents stop seeding when i've got upload ratio 1.0 (for each torrent) f.ex :-)

I think this is not a bad idea. I'll see what we can do about this for the next KT version since we are going into string freeze today for final 1.1.

I agree, we'll add it to the TODO list for 1.2

Do you want this to be torrent specific (i.e. you can set a share ratio target per torrent) or one share ratio target for all torrents ?

Maybe both would be good. We could add option in configuration dialog that will apply to all torrents and add option to override this value for specific torrent (e.g. right-click -> set max d/u ratio)

Max Download rate

Fri Sep 23, 2005 7:18 am
Is there a way to limit the max download rate? It seems to take the complete bandwith, or does it allow other apps their needed bandwith?

Bandwith

Fri Sep 23, 2005 8:00 am
What I noticed is that the max possible bandwith is used. Other users then have a very slow response into the internet.

:?

It is in 1.1rc1 but very jumpy at the moment, it should get better in 1.1.

Download of ktorrent

Fri Sep 23, 2005 10:51 am
Great!

There are various versions in RPM of ktorrent. I found a version that works and installs perfectly (even into the menu structure under Internet --> Data Exchange) for my SUSE 9.3 x86_32 & x86_64 at :

http://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/ftp.ope ... 86_64/9.2/

Will the 1.1rc1 or the next stable version also be readily usable as RPM for my systems? If not, is there a how-to to build it?

:-)

Well, we have SuSE 9.3 RPM for x86 platform in downloads section of this website. It installs just fine on SuSE 9.3 and also puts shortcuts into menu Internet-->Peer To Peer. You can use that or you can build your own package it's really simple on SuSE.
