This is very hard to nail down and I could be wrong, but I did notice lower performance compared to another client. If I could guess as to why, it would be the upload is not performing correctly.


Watching the peers shows that ktorrent seems to only upload to one or at most two peers at at time with all the allowed upload. The download then chokes off.

Try the latest svn and see what happens.
