I don't know if it's a general or a personal problem but when i limit the upload rate, even if ktorrent pretend to limit the rate, this doesn't really happen (I checked with gkrellm)... Is this a bug or did I do something wrong?

It constantly stays high, the strange thing is that this seems independent from the upload limit I set. With a 24 KB/sec limit KTorrent shows a constant 24 KB/sec upload whilst actually pushing ~30 KB/sec, with 10 KB/sec it's the same, KTorrent shows 10 KB/sec but the real rate is still 30 KB/sec. BTW I have tried both KTorrent 1.0 and 1.1RC1 and both share the same problem, this is under Gentoo x86 with a 2.6.12 kernel. I have checked with netstat too just to be sure that gkrellm wasn't fooling me and it confirmed that when KTorrent is running my upload speed is fixed at 30 KB/sec. Oh, I am also behind a firewall but I have forwarded the port 6881 (both UDP and TCP) and port 4444 (UDP only).

I'll make a bug out of it, when I have more time I will check it out. EDIT: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115669 |

Protocol overhead should be pretty limited when seeding. It should be higher during the download (you send out lots of requests, whenever you have downloaded a chunk, you need to tell all peers that you downloaded that chunk) |
