I also think that the option would be very useful. Will you add it?

Ok, the feature is ready. Try testing it from latest SVN and post back the results, maybe I've missed something.

We will see if we add an option to kick a peer.

Any clue on which code files we are talking about?

@Anti_cheater
Would you be so kind as to translate your last post to English?

My German sucks, but I will give it a try :

If we were to release this info, KT might be banned by certain community sites, because it would be considered a cheater client.

This is very loosly translated.

It really isn't difficult to modify the code, if you know how to program C++. We name things logically, so finding the files, should not be a problem either.

BitComet > v0.57 = Baned (Reason: Stupid DHT-Handling, Sending inkorreckt Datapackages to the Tracker etc.)
Azureus (any Version) = Baned (Reason: Cheater-Mods, no automaticly DHT-Handling, ignore the Announces Time which the Tracker send etc...)
G3 (any Version) = Baned (Reason: Cheater-Mods, sending Bad Data to Tracker)
Rufus (any Version) = Baned (Reason: Based on G3...)
Ktorrent is a nice Client, but as soon as it admits, how one cheaten with KTorrent can, these in most communities is excluded.

@george: good translation (yours German is better than my English ;) ) surely everyone can modify the code with C++ knowledge, but therefore one should not make it for those too easy...(only my opinion).

@ivan: my English is more understandable than my German text?

I was pretty sure I understood what you wrote, but not so sure as to guess the context of the sentence - weather you blamed us or wanted to help :)

First of all this is an open-source project so anyone who wants can modify the code but that's the problem with all OS projects (including Azureus).
Second, we don't have any cheater-mods that's for sure. What George mentioned is that it's easy to modify the code to cheat (note to all: don't spread the word that it's easy to cheat please - so all the people reading this : It's very difficult to cheat don't even try to do it ! :) )

It may be easy to modify it, but you still have to cheat smart, otherwise you could still get caught. It depends on what a tracker checks.

Yeah cheaters suck. Actually banning clients could be dangerous due to say you see this person is only uploading at 2kbps but downloading at 20 you could ban them so that the system will move on to the next peer. who may upload at 30kbps. This is unfair because you may not know that the person is uploading to 15 people and your the only person with the chunk he/she needs.

So to make banning fair. it should only bann you from d/ling from them but still allow them to dl from you.

Also if your network sucks that bad have your friend burn you a copy and mail it. It would be faster and more reliable.
