ktorrent is sometimes craching (SIGSEGV) when I changes the download this file flag.

It can hapen both when I am checking or unchecking the flag...

Can this be because ktorrents try to read from the file before it gets moved propery (a lack of mutexes...)

oh yes: version 1.2dev checktout yesterday...

Try it out now.

KT does not use threads (so mutexes are not necessary), however the problem is probably similar in nature.
