[feature reqs] Some gui polishings

Sun Jan 15, 2006 8:24 pm
So here ara my four reqs:

1. Can F5 key refresh the GUI list? This could be useful when someone has the refresh rate at 5secs, or when someone just wants to play around.

2. And customizable columns in the gui like in amaroK would be really cool. One that lets you select which fields to show, and of course with more fields like tracker etc.

3. Can we see the tracker hostname in info widget somewhere? Maybe a tooltip on tracker status.

4. Can we see where the current torrent is being saved in harddrive?

Ktorrent is great! I'm sure once 1.2 hits the stable trees of distros it's going to dominate the other torrent clients. Thanks George and Ivan.

Maybe, but we are 2 hours away from string freeze, so it is not going into 1.2.

Not a bad idea.

If it doesn't clutter it to much (maybe we could add an additional tab)

4. Can we see where the current torrent is being saved in harddrive?

I don't think this is very usefull, you allready know were it will be saved (either you have chosen it at the start, or have a default location selected)

Some of us have extremely short memories ... ;-)

Especially for those 7.4GB torrents. Thus far, it's been nearly a week, and KT is estimating a bit under 8.5 days left. (The estimate has been as high as 59 days.)

I can't remember what I did yesterday. Nevermind 2 weeks ago

I knew this one was coming :-)

We could open konqueror in the save directory when it's finished, but we would have to make that configurable and seeing that the GUI is frozen at the moment, it ain't gonna happen for 1.2.

I'd be ecstatic with just a new column in the torrent list with "local" or "location" that starts off to to the right (since we can always move it around to where we want it anyway). Opening a konqueror window would not be what I'd want just because that would take up precious desktop real estate.

And I would agree that this should not impact 1.2's dates at all. Most definitely a "nice to have" that can wait for some future release ;-)
