First of all, I want to thank the developers of this application, finally there is a fast torrent program with an excellent gui.

Here are some requests I have.

Request:
An option allowing you to set "max upload speed while downloading"

Behavior:
As long as there are torrent downloads, this upload speed should be honoured. As soon as all torrents are seeding, the usual upload speed should be honoured.

Why:
Many internet users do not have a full duplex internet connection.
Therefore, uploading at 100% will totally choke the download speed to a very low percentage of maximum speed.

Request:
Option for pre-allocation.

Behavior:
When turned on, the entire torrent will be pre-allocated on the harddrive before downloaded.

Why:
To avoid fragmentation.

Request:
Some kind of option to make a torrent seed to a pre-set share-ratio.

Behavior:
Example: You set something like "seed until share ratio: 1" and the torrent will keep on seeding until share ratio is 1.
It would be nice if this could be set both globally, and private-per-torrent.

Example: You go to a site, start downloading a torrent. You have already set a global setting of share ratio 1.
You start downloading another torrent.
This torrent is badly seeded and you want to share this torrent more than a share ratio of 1. So, right click the torrent and you are able to set a private share ratio for this one.
1st torrent will download, start seeding until share ratio 1. (Global setting)
2nd torrent will download, start seeding until share ratio is whatever you set it for this torrent. (Overriding global setting).

Why:
Some people might have limited bandwith and not want to share more than needed. More control.

Now, this one I am unsure of because I haven't got this error lately.
Anyway.
In 1.1 When I downloaded from a very busy tracker, I would get a lot of connection errors. The annoying thing here is that on every connection error, ktorrent would only continue if I pressed "try again" or something like that. (There came a pop-up dialog when the error occured.)

Suggestion: Remove this pop-up dialog and just reconnect without asking. This way I can go to sleep without having to be worried that ktorrent will stop because of connection error (:

We allready have the upload, I fail to see the benefit an additional one just for downloading will bring.

Yeah that could be usefull. Pre-allocating by default could also make some other things easier.

This has been removed for quite some time now.

Faster downloading & seeding. Will come to share ratio of 1 faster.
Example:
My ISP provides me with 8Mbit download and 1Mbit upload.
With you current system, say I set upload to 128KiB/s (1Mbit)
I start to download 1 really big torrent and go to sleep.
There is a big chance that when I wake up I have shared to ratio of almost 1.3 or something, and download still isnt done.
(Because when you don't have full duplex, if you upload at max, your download capacity will drop a LOT)

Example2:
With your current system, I set my upload to 90KiB/s. (70% of max upload, this will ensure that download capacity isn't choked)
I start to download 1 really big torrent and go to sleep.
When I wake up, torrent will probably be downloaded. But ratio might only be 0.8 or whatever.

With the system I propose, I will be able to have an upload of 70% when downloading. And then when download is complete, the upload will be able to go to 100% and therefore giving the most optimized file-sharing both for the user and for the community.

Yes this is true, and for what i have seen, cable has more issues with this than ADSL. It's a good feature IMO, cause utorrent has it too.

Could be handy, I will add it to the list.
